The busiest time of the year is upon us and Snellers are already seeing record breaking numbers. Over the years our presence in the area has grown and we are attracting more and more buyers and tenants, keen to find their next home. Both sales and lettings teams have been working hard and playing their part in the very best results being achieved for our clients.

Our lettings department is currently busier than ever before. “Rental demand is strong for all varieties of property, which is pushing rental prices up,” says Jon Mulshaw, Snellers Teddington Lettings Director. “We have had a record first quarter of corporate tenants who are looking for a wide range of property, from two bedroom flats to five bedroom houses. Add to the mix the large number of private tenants with healthy budgets who are registering their interest with us and you have the makings of a really healthy market. We are finding that new tenants are regularly looking to get into the area for the great schooling options available, or they are already living here and simply do not want to live anywhere else.”

The sales teams are offering their assistance to noticeably more purchasers than before, who are all eager to find their dream home in the area. “It is the kind of market where record prices can be achieved, as there are more purchasers out there viewing than there are houses available to buy. We are busy across the market but top-end houses are where we are really noticing a major increase in interest,” says Paul Herring, Sales Director at Snellers Teddington. “In the first week of May alone we had two multi-million-pound houses sell for over their asking prices following competitive offers from multiple interested parties.”

“Typical buyers at the moment are locals who are looking to upsize within the area,” says Paul. “And our sellers tend to be empty-nesters who are looking to move further out of London. Many of those who are heading to the countryside aren’t quite ready to say goodbye to the Richmond Borough entirely, with many of them registering with us to purchase a smaller house or flat to use as a pied-a-terre to ensure they can continue to enjoy the area long into the future.”

Snellers has seen a fantastic start to the summer and we are anticipating an active and successful remainder of the year.
